John Cates

Client Advisor

John joined the ReNew Life team in July of 2019. As a Client Advisor, John is responsible for educating both clients and their team of advisors on the various options available for unwanted, unneeded, or underperforming life insurance policies. Utilizing his experience, John has a thorough understanding of what all the stakeholders in the life settlement transaction should be looking for and how to maximize its value.


John has worked for two publicly traded banks where he has spent time as a project manager, investment advisor, trust officer, and most recently, was the Head of Private Banking. Having grown up in the Irish Hills of Michigan, John often takes his family back to the area to enjoy the many lakes.

Terrah Schaefer

Specialty Market Case Manager

Terrah joined the ReNew Life team in December of 2019. With the role of a Case Manager, she quarterback’s cases from start to finish. Terrah is responsible for assembling case files, coordinating the life insurance policy offers from the secondary market and facilitating the execution of settlement contracts.


Terrah brings a unique skill set, stemming from her prior experience in the finance and information technology industries. She graduated in 2019 with an Associates degree in Applied Science and when not at the office, Terrah enjoys spending time outdoors and with her friends and family.

Noah Bader

Director of Finance

Noah joined the ReNew Life team in May of 2020. Noah is responsible for initial policy pricings, helping to understand the value of the cases the team brings to the secondary market.


Noah graduated from Hillsdale College in 2015 with a degree in Mathematics and followed that with an MBA from the University of Toledo in 2018. His educational background, along with experience in corporate finance and as a financial advisor help him to understand client situations and work with the team to bring value to the families we serve. In his free time, Noah enjoys playing golf, soccer, hockey, and guitar.
